Brand Goals

Got Craft aims to provide a curated market experience, showcasing a wide variety of independent artisan work made by people. By providing a diverse, inclusive space, attendees are able to support small businesses, and makers can engage with their local communities.

Secondary Research Results

Finding 01.

Lost in the noise

In our research, we found that an obstacle that local businesses face is volume. With the near infinite amount of options that consumers can pick from online, standing out proves to be difficult.

Finding 02.

Personal connection

Additionally, we found that creating personal connections to be paramount for small business. Customers are able to better relate to stories, and and humanizes vendors as people.

Research Question

How might we focus more on vendors to create personal connections with the buyers, in an effort to make the local market experience more engaging/appealing?

Framing

With our approach, Got Craft will be able to showcase stories from vendors to better connect with potential buyers, by connecting them emotionally, and instilling empathy.

Our Focus

We decided to place our focus towards the layout experience of the homepage, and the market page. We found that these areas were the most important places to add visibility for vendors. Making the vendors the forefront in the marketing would bring a spotlight on not just the business but the people and effort behind it. Customer relationships are paramount to better interactions.

Final Website (and its elements)

01.Home Page

Got cafts story and events

We wanted our home page to be simple, bring some attention to the markets and vendors and give the user an idea about what got craft is.

02. Market Page

Highlighting the vendors

We wanted to use the market place to bring attention to the vendors. This page has an option to filter through differnt vendors and learn in detail about each vendor.

Reflection

Throughout the five weeks of this project, I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of research in shaping effective design decisions. I learned how to build a cohesive brand identity through strong art direction and visual design. Developing the website strengthened my skills in prototyping, wire framing, and interaction design, as we focused on creating an experience that was both intuitive and engaging. The microsite combined visuals like images, videos, and animations with text to communicate the essence of the festival in a way that felt dynamic and user-centered.
